lyrics

Time to tell a story of a warped “iology”
From a man who had a stump for a family tree
Whispered In my ear with a sickening lurch
He just got back from burning down the local church
Why did you do that? You know it’s against the law
Crossed over the line boy, now tell me what else you saw
And I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t fascinated
It doesn’t mean I think his actions should be advocated
And honestly I was surprised when he up and stated
That organized religion should be taxed or abrogated (What!?!)

Doubt that he’ll ever understand at all
There’ll never be a jury that won’t see him fall
He smiles like an angel with a Devil’s tail
Sets off the dynamite at the local jail
Why did you do that? You know it’s against the law
Crossed over the line boy, now tell me what else you saw
And I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t fascinated
It doesn’t mean I think his actions should be advocated
And honestly I was surprised when he up and stated
That the justice system was so highly overrated (What!?!)
The law met demands when they hunted him down
Put the bullets in him and he fell to the ground
I asked him what he wanted as he bled in the sand
He dropped a piece of paper that he held in his hand
Why did you do that? You know it’s against the law
Crossed over the line boy, now tell me what else you saw

To see the city from the top of the spire, that’s a sight that I desire
(Look down upon the city, from up upon the spire)
